David Peña ‘Dorantes’, Renaud García-Fons and Theodosii Spassov

A flamenco piano, a French double bass and a Bulgarian wooden shepherd’s flute: is this still flamenco? Three musical friends go on an adventure, exploring their own and each other’s musical boundaries. Bassist Renaud García-Fons and flutist Theodosii Spassov weave their musical worlds around pianist David Peña 'Dorantes' flamenco rhythms, showing the riches and boundlessness of the flamenco world heritage.
‘Spassov has created a new musical genre,’ Newsweek wrote. The Bulgarian has developed a totally new way of the playing the kaval, one of Europe’s oldest instruments. Like the French bassist, he is a storyteller, mixing traditional folk with jazz and classical music.
